Fire Risk Assessments

But what is a Fire Risk Assessment?

A fire risk assessment is an inspection of a building with the intention of assessing its fire risk and giving recommendations on how to make the building safer if necessary.

We recommend that a fire risk assessment always be written, since it's the most efficient way for findings to be communicated and recommendations to be carried out.

There are legal guidelines that must be followed with fire risk assessments:

  • Every 12 months after the original assessment is done

  • Every 5 years a new assessment should be conducted

  • If the building’s purpose has substantially changed

  • If the building structure, such as the layout, has changed

  • If there has been a considerable change in the occupants

Hurst Compliance is focused on our  goal of providing comprehensive fire risk assessments for complex buildings, specializing in Care homes, assisted living, retirement complexes, gyms and specialist buildings

There are legal requirements for both fire risk assessments and the person in control. If there are 5 or more employees that place the responsible person in charge of a single building or more than one property, the risk assessment must be written down.

Our reports are compliant with all relevant regulations, including, most importantly, PAS79, and our cloud-based reporting system makes it easy for property managers to keep track of the status of their property and take action to improve any issues.
